Making Learning Come Alive for Students with Project Based Learning (PBL)

TES believes that children learn best when curriculum comes to life and is relevant to their world. The school thus implements Project Based Learning (PBL) in each classroom. PBL is a teaching method in which students learn by actively engaging in real-world and personally meaningful projects.

PBL engages students in an extended process of inquiry in response to a complex question, problem, or challenge. While allowing for some degree of student “voice and choice,” rigorous projects are carefully planned, managed, and assessed at TES in order to help students learn key academic content, practice 21st Century Skills (such as collaboration, communication & critical thinking), and create high-quality, authentic products & presentations.

At TES, you will find our “Explorers” working individually and collaboratively on projects that are not only academically rigorous, but that also build character and can make a difference, allowing them to develop respect, compassion and a sense of responsibility for individuals, our community, and the global community. 

Research Shows the Value of PBL

Too often, traditional learning often feels removed from the real world. Project-based learning, on the contrary, connects students to the real world and helps prepare and empower them to meet the challenges of today.
